How to Do a Three-Point Turn

  1. Choose a Suitable Location:

    • Find a wide and quiet road with good visibility in both directions.

    • Ensure there are no obstructions like parked cars or pedestrians nearby.

  2. Prepare Your Vehicle:

    • Signal and pull over to the left-hand side of the road.

    • Activate your hazard lights to indicate your intention to other drivers.

  3. Perform the Three-Point Turn:

    • Check all mirrors and blind spots for any approaching vehicles or pedestrians.

    • Move forward slowly while turning the steering wheel to the right until your vehicle is at the opposite side of the road.

    • Stop and select reverse gear.

    • Check again for any approaching traffic or pedestrians.

    • Reverse slowly while turning the steering wheel to the left until your vehicle is facing the original direction.

    • Stop, check traffic again, and move forward to complete the turn.

  4. Complete the Manoeuvre:

    • Ensure you’re positioned correctly within the lane and that you haven’t mounted the curb or obstructed traffic flow.

    • Signal your intention to move off and merge safely into traffic.
